Miss Maya Found Her Forever Family!

Petunia Will Be Treasured!

Alum Cassy With Her Mom, Blade And Feline Friend Snowball

Huggy Bear Goes To Cleveland National Forest
We hiked the San Juan loop, which turned out to be quite a trail. We got back to the parking lot pretty tired. We stopped by the candy store near the parking lot, and we treated ourselves to some ice cream, but since Huggy couldn't eat ice cream, we got him two bandannas; a red one and a yellow one. We put the red one on immediately. He looks so handsome in it, we decided to leave it on when we got home.

Huggy has also started obedience training. He is smart, and he is catching on to the training assignments very quickly. We were fortunate to find a great positive trainer who teaches not even 5 minutes away from our house. We are working toward getting the AKC "Good Citizen" Certification for him. It's still a long road ahead, but we are working patiently with Huggy. We are determined to make this experience great and rewarding for all of us.

Miyako and I still check the GSROC web site frequently. We get so excited when we see some of the dogs get moved from the "Dogs For Adoption" list to the "Adopted Dogs" list. Hopefully, all of the dogs will have a happy ending for them.

I wish you good luck with all of your dogs at GSROC. I will keep you updated on Huggy with more good news in the future.

Rommel Found His Special Family!

Tallie Enjoys The Beach With Bella
I thought I would give you an update on Tallie. As you can see in the picture, her full coat is now in and she is just beautiful. She is healthy and weighs 70 lbs!
She has completed her obedience training. I am still working with her on her anxiety and fear when she leaves the home. Therefore I took her(and Bella of course ) to Ocean Beach,Dog Beach and Fiesta Island in San Diego where dogs can run off leash and play in the surf. As she loves water so much, I thought that this would be a good socializing experience for her. We stayed at the Ocean Villa at Dog Beach. They allow large dogs and the rooms on the first floor ,which allow dogs, all open to a communal dog run.

Needless to say, she had a grand time. She ran in the surf and played with the dogs in the communal dog run. I took them to an outdoor restaurant that permits dogs on the patio and they even let you order food for the dogs . So she and Bella ate out at the restaurant twice(hamburgers and scrambled eggs). This was the more difficult experience for her but she even did well at eating out although with anxiety. She learned to ride in the car without anxiety and actually slept for part of the trip.

She gained a lot of confidence on this trip so I am going to take her and Bella to the dog beach more often. When she is having a grand time,it is easier for her to learn to interact with strangers with less fear.

Boomer And Reily Are Gorgeous!
Well Boomer(Parker) and Reily(Gidget) are having a ball chasing each other all over the yard. Once and a while they stop to rest and that's when I was able to get this picture. They play well together with Reily being tough enough to fend off the bigger Boomer, she is no sissy. Reily has bonded to both of us very well.

We're having a lot of fun with them but being over 60 they can wear us out as well. Thanks for taking such good care of them.

Howard Is King Of The World!
Howard before GSROC was a scared trembling, drooling scared out of his mind dog...

This is Howard today. He's taking a cruise in his neighborhood on his boat. He is loved, cherished and just a bit spoiled. Thank you so much to everyone that helped him on his journey home. We can't imagine our lives without him.
